Arrowhead-making and Flintknapping Workshop

On Saturday, December 14, 2019, flintknapper Sam Greenleaf will be at Old Pueblo Archaeology Center (2201 W. 44th St, Tucson) teaching a workshop on arrowhead-making and flintknapping. From 9:00 a.m. to noon, learn how to make arrowheads, spear points, and other flaked stone artifacts just like ancient peoples did. In this workshop, flintknapping expert Sam Greenleaf provides participants with hands-on experience and learning on how prehistoric people made and used projectile points and other tools created from obsidian and other stone. All materials and equipment are provided. The class is designed to help modern people understand how prehistoric Native Americans made traditional crafts and is not intended to train students how to make artwork for sale. Limited to six registrants. There is a $35 requested donation ($28 for Old Pueblo Archaeology Center and Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary members; 50% off for persons who have taken this class previously).
