Arrowhead-making and Flintknapping Workshop

On Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, learn how to make arrowheads, spear points, and other flaked stone artifacts just like ancient peoples did. In this workshop, flintknapping expert Sam Greenleaf provides participants with hands-on experience and learning on how pre-European Contact people made and used projectile points and other tools created from obsidian and other stone. All materials and equipment are provided. The class is designed to help modern people understand how Native Americans made traditional crafts and is not intended to train students how to make artwork for sale. This workshop will be held at Old Pueblo Archaeology Center, located at 2201 W. 44th Street, Tucson. Limited to six registrants. All participants are asked to wear face masks and to practice physical distancing during the workshop to avoid spreading COVID-19 virus.
There is a requested donation of $35 ($28 for Old Pueblo Archaeology Center and Friends of Pueblo Grande Museum members; 50% off for persons who have taken this class previously).
