Adult Programs
Traditional Pottery Making Level 1 Workshop
Experienced southwestern potter and artisan John Guerin teaches Old Pueblo's pottery workshops to show you how to make traditional Indian pottery the way it has been made here in the Southwest for over two thousand years. Dig your own clay, then hand-make your own pots, seed bowls, canteens, corrugated ware, ladles, and rattles using the coil-and-scrape method. The paddle- and-anvil method will also be demonstrated. All equipment is provided. Children age 9 to16 may take the pottery class if a parent enrolls with them. Maximum enrollment is 15 persons/class. Class includes: * Southwest history: Anasazi, Mogollon, Hohokam & Pueblo pottery Fee:
$79; $63.20 for Old Pueblo Archaeology Center and Pueblo Grande Museum
Auxiliary members; includes all materials except clay, which participants
will collect during class field trip."; and at bottom, add "Levels 2 and 3
pottery workshops (for which Level 1 is a prerequisite) are offered when
